Persuasive Essay

We had to write a persuasive and descriptive essay. I chose to write my piece on why gaming should be in the olympics in 2021. I enjoyed getting all the information to write my piece for my essay. I found it challenging to write a good amount of writing because it's only about one topic all throughout the writing. But luckily I managed to finish it. I found it easy to pick the background colour because I really like the color combination between the two blues.

Pukeko Knows The Answers

What We Did
In class today we had to create an educational based game to teach maori using piskel, scratch and Tipu in schools. My first and only Idea was to do a Pukeko and I think it looks quite cool. I really enjoyed coding my sprite to cry if you got the question wrong and also coding it so confetti would appear around the Pukeko if you got the question right. I found it difficult to transfer my sprite into scratch and thats only because it had a transparent background. Luckily I solved that problem by downloading my sprite on Piskel instead of just taking a screenshot of it. Next time I think I should make the Pukeko actually move it's mouth when it talks because I think it would add a more realistic kind of perspective.
Did this game help you learn any Maori words? And if it didn't tell me in the comments.

Tipu In Schools

There is a app we discovered last term called "Tipu in schools". It helps you learn Maori. In our class we all got a journal to write down our Maori notes. In one of my pages in my journal someone wrote "Hi Larz". In pen highlighted in blue highlighter  so I had to rewrite that whole page. Which was quite frustrating. We usually do it in our literacy block. I recommend it. But it does cost money so not everyone can get it.

What We Did
Isaac, Hunter and I made a Sharp task dedicated the the story we read. This was meant to be on my blog a while ago it's just I forgot to post it. Something I thought was fun in the making of the video was the acting part because its was fun to put on a voice and have different names and stuff. I also found it fun that we could put humour in the story. Like when I dropped the mike because it's the news where everything is breaking and then I quit. And also like when Isaac said "Hi mum" at the end. Something. I found it challenging to write because we were outside so I had to write it on my lap and I was frustrating.

What We Did
For cybersmart we had to get pictures and create some for certain things. This certain challenge was called "Copyright Challenge". I got all the images off explore because of copyright. You can't notice because I took a screenshot of it so there isn't the link for them. The pictures and drawings we had to get were based on these, name, age, favourite subject in school, something we think is cool, favourite animal, favorite food, favorite colors, favorite thing to do, family, where we want to go, our home country and our nickname, nicknames for me. What I enjoyed doing was making all of my own pictures. What I didn't enjoy was nothing I enjoyed all of it. Something I found challenging was the home country and where we want to go. The reason I found them challenging was because I created the country's in polyline first but then I got the images for them. I think it was more annoying than challenging. I got all the images off explore because of copyright. You can't notice because I took a screenshot of it so there isn't the link for them.

What We Did
For a cybersmart task we had to go to a app called piskel and I decided to make a Pukeko. In the process of making this I felt it really enjoyable. One of the reasons is that I really love art and this is kind of a digital way of drawing but its pixelated. I found it easy to colour the Pukeko in because there's a tool that just fills it in. What I found challenging was getting the right body shape. It was also challenging  to make the Pukeko talking because it looked like a t-rex mouth at the start. I obviously just took screenshots of both of the movements but on the app its an animation. I've also created a lot of different animations but I decided just to post this one. I'm probably going to post the others later on though.

What We Did
The video we created was for a sharp task. We had to read the story and then do a video about it. And one of the most enjoyable parts was writing our own script. We still had to keep the most important parts of the story though. It was a fun challenge coverting what happend in the story and putting in a news report. One of the most enjoyable parts was writing the script. One of the harder things was figureing out how to put the video on my blog. First I downloaded the video and that didn't work. But then I found out that I could just put the link in and make it so anyone can view it. This video was created in week seven by me Hunter and Issac.
