The History of Kupe
Kupe was the first Polynesian to discover and visit
New Zealand and he was a great chief of hawaiki.
One day Kupe decided to go fishing and it was apparently
triggered by a great big octopus. There for Kupe
went on his canoe and followed the giant octopus.
He wanted to kill the beast. The octopus lead him to
Cook Straight in New Zealand and that is where he
ended it’s life.
